Gintastic! Pop-up was the code word of the Dutch summer of 2020! From the 23rd to the 27th of June, the unique summer garden of NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky was transformed into a mystical Hendrick's Gin summer pop-up edition. The Hendrick’s summer pop-up was all about the launch of the sister of the popular Hendrick's Gin: the Limited Edition Midsummer Solstice. The Midsummer Solstice is inspired by ‘the mysterious enhancing effect of the solstice on flowers in full bloom’, and developed by Hendrick's Master Distiller Lesly Gracie. The special thing about the Hendricks Gin is the distillation process; the gin is distilled in Girvan, a small coastal town in Scotland. The process is handcrafted in small batches of only 500 liters of Hendrick's Gin at a time.
The limited edition Hendrick’s Gin Midsummer Solstice could be admired last summer in full bloom in the heart of Amsterdam. The hidden summergarden at NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky which is normally known as ‘Golden Palm Bar’, has been transformed into a botanical oasis for a duration of one week with wonderful cocktail creations. Many gin lovers have enjoyed refreshing Hendrick's cocktails, surrounded by wildlife and beautiful flowers. Via the Bar The Tailor Facebook event it was possible to reserve a table in this green oasis to visit the pop-up edition and order a cocktail from the summer menu.
The Hendrick's Gin Summer pop-up was Alina Rosa Doll's first project as a new brand ambassador. Bar manager James Chaib of Bar The Tailor has been voted Best Bartender in NL 2019 and has developed an exclusive cocktail menu full of summer creations. All cocktails are topped off with the taste of flowers in full bloom, as this is what Hendrick's Gin Limited edition Summer Solstice is known for.
Curious about this special drink? Then get started at home and order a bottle of Midsummer Solstice! The perfect summer drink is the so called "Midsummer Solstice Spritz", which consists of a combination of Hendrick's Midsummer Solstice mixed with sweet Vermouth, Prosecco and tonic water. Get shaking!
