Johnnie Walker Blue Label introduces the Bothy - a special Scottish hideaway in Amsterdam where you can taste Johnnie Walker Blue Label with matching small dishes from Michelin star restaurant The White Room.
For four weeks, until December 20, a special room in Bar The Tailor in NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam will be transformed into a Bothy. This Bothy gets its name from the Scottish word for rare, secluded huts found in the boisterous "Highlands" used by hiking adventurers seeking warmth and shelter at night. The idea is to provide guests with a similar experience and to take them to this idyllic place to walk out the Bothy as friends after they come in as strangers.
During the evening you will be able to taste a rare whiskey in different ways, which consists of a collection of 30 operating distilleries and a number of distilleries that are already closed. The combination of these grain and malt whiskeys form one of the world's most famous and exclusive blended whiskeys: Johnnie Walker Blue Label. The four corners of Scotland - the West Coast and Islands, the Highlands, Speyside and the Lowlands - you can taste the depth of flavor of these special Scottish landscapes in every cocktail and tasting of Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
James Chaib, best bartender in the Netherlands 2019, has composed the cocktails especially for the Bothy experience. '' Designing this pairing menu allowed me to take guests on a journey through the highlands using ingredients you'd pass on your way, all abundant in Scotland, '' said James Chaib.
Randy Karman, chef de cuisine of The White Room, and his team provided the food pairing.
